Technical tour to Sala Silvermine

On the 12th of September, we invite the participants of NORDROCS to join us for an excursion to Sala Silvermine. For at least 500 years, minerals have been extracted in Sala Silvermine. During the majority of these centuries, the focus was on extracting the coveted silver for the Crown’s coins, but lead, zinc, and dolomite were also mined here, with the latter still being extracted to this day.
During the excursion, we will both have a guided tour including lunch in the mine, as well as a guided tour of the ongoing remediation of contaminants residing from the mining activities at the site.
